What is Lugol’s Iodine Solution?
Lugol’s Iodine Solution is a preparation of elemental iodine (I₂) and potassium iodide (KI) dissolved in purified water. This combination allows iodine to remain stable in solution.
Iodine is an essential trace element required by the body in small amounts. It contributes to normal thyroid hormone production and normal thyroid function. Iodine also contributes to normal cognitive function, normal energy-yielding metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Dietary sources of iodine include foods such as seaweed, fish, dairy products and eggs.
Health Leads Lugol’s Iodine Solution provides a convenient way to supplement iodine intake when used as directed.
Suggested Adult Use
This product must be diluted before use.
Dilute 1 drop of Lugol’s Iodine Solution in 60 drops (3 ml) of water.
Take 2 drops of the diluted solution once daily.
This provides 500 µg iodine (333% NRV).
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

Packaging
Supplied in an amber glass bottle with precision pipette to assist accurate dilution and dosing.
The pipette is manufactured using chemical-resistant rubber to help maintain product integrity during storage.
