Our Story
How Health Leads Began
Health Leads was founded in 1998 by Christine and John Doyle, following their personal experiences and growing interest in nutrition, natural health and supplementation.
Christine had long been interested in alternative approaches to wellbeing. She regularly read publications and books by writers including Adele Davis, Jan de Vries and Dr Vogel, but it was her family’s experience of serious illness that made her interest much more personal.
Christine’s father had been treated for Hodgkin’s disease during the 1950s. Although the treatment addressed his cancer, he experienced significant long-term health complications which were believed to be connected to the intensive radiation treatments used at that time.
Seeing what her father experienced encouraged Christine to learn more about health, nutrition and the importance of carefully considering what we put into our bodies.
Her interest developed further when both she and her husband, John, experienced health difficulties of their own. John suffered a serious back injury that resulted in an extended stay in hospital. During his recovery, Christine began exploring how nutrition and supplementation might support their overall health and wellbeing.
What had previously been an interest soon became something they began applying in their everyday lives.
From Personal Interest to Supplement Manufacturing
As Christine researched the supplement industry, she became increasingly conscious of the ingredients, processing methods and manufacturing practices used to produce nutritional products.
She and John wanted supplements that reflected their own priorities: carefully selected ingredients, straightforward formulations and as few unnecessary additives as possible.
Unable to find everything they were looking for, they began producing supplements themselves on a small scale.
The response showed that many other people shared their concerns and values. Customers were also looking for thoughtfully formulated supplements from a business that cared about ingredient selection and product quality.
From those modest beginnings, Health Leads steadily developed into an established supplement company serving customers in the UK and internationally.
Christine’s Reflection
“I had always been interested in alternative medicine and nutrition, but seeing my father suffer from the long-term effects of his treatment made me much more aware of the importance of looking after our health.
“When John and I later experienced health problems ourselves, I decided to stop simply reading the information and begin applying what I was learning.
“We became increasingly interested in how supplements were made and wanted products that met the standards we were looking for ourselves. Soon afterwards, we began small-scale manufacture of our own supplements.
“Health Leads grew from there. We were fortunate to attract other like-minded people to work alongside us, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the company and its products reach customers around the world.”

Health Leads Today
Health Leads is now under new ownership, but Christine and John’s story remains an important part of our identity.
Today, we operate from our manufacturing facility in West Wales, where we continue to develop and manufacture nutritional supplements for Health Leads customers and other brands.
We are proud of the heritage they created and remain committed to many of the principles that inspired the original business: considered formulations, carefully selected ingredients, responsible manufacturing and a preference for avoiding unnecessary additives wherever possible.
At the same time, Health Leads continues to evolve. We are investing in our people, manufacturing equipment, quality systems and product development capabilities to ensure the business is equipped for its next stage of growth.
Our aim is to bring together the values on which Health Leads was founded with the standards, expertise and innovation expected from a modern supplement manufacturer.
More than 25 years after Christine and John began producing supplements on a small scale, Health Leads is entering a new chapter—proud of where we came from and ambitious about where we are going next.
