What is Castor Oil?

Ricinus communis, the Castorbean or Castor-oil plant, is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. Its seed is the Castor bean, which, despite its name, is not a true bean.
The seeds contain between 40% and 60% oil that is rich in triglycerides, mainly ricinolein. The seed also contains ricin, a water-soluble toxin, which is also present in lower concentrations throughout the plant.

What does Castor Oil do?

Use topically as a 'Castor Oil Pack' or as a hair conditioner to promote strong and healthy growth.
The high amounts of natural fatty-acids and Vitamin E make Castor Oil a popular moisturiser and skin softener.

This product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is hexane free.

The best oils are cold-pressed. The oil is obtained through grinding and pressing in a stainless steel hydraulic press. Although pressing and grinding produce heat through friction, the temperature must not rise above 120°F (49°C) for any oil to be considered cold-pressed. Cold-pressed oils are produced at much lower temperatures, retaining all of their flavour, aroma, and nutritional value.
We will not use known harmful hydrogenated oil, additives, colourants, sweeteners, excipients such as magnesium stearate.
