Description
Health Leads Organic Cold-Pressed Castor Oil is a 100% pure, organic, hexane-free castor oil produced from the seeds of Ricinus communis.
Cold pressing helps preserve the oil's naturally occurring fatty acid profile without the use of chemical solvents, while our amber bottle helps protect the oil from unnecessary exposure to light during storage.
Suitable for topical use on the skin, scalp, hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and nails, this versatile oil is a simple addition to everyday personal care routines.
What Is Castor Oil?
Castor oil is a naturally occurring vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the castor plant (Ricinus communis).
Although commonly called the "castor bean", the seed is not a true bean. The oil has been used for centuries in traditional skincare and cosmetic preparations because of its distinctive thick, rich texture.
The oil is naturally high in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that gives castor oil many of its characteristic physical properties.
Properly manufactured castor oil does not contain the naturally occurring toxin ricin, which remains in the seed material during processing rather than the finished cold-pressed oil.
Why Choose Cold-Pressed Castor Oil?
Cold pressing extracts the oil mechanically without using chemical solvents such as hexane.
During cold pressing, temperatures are carefully controlled to help preserve the oil's natural composition.
Health Leads Castor Oil is: 100% organic, cold-pressed, hexane free, unrefined, free from fragrances and additives, suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Why Organic?
Our castor oil is produced from organically grown castor seeds and certified to organic standards.
Choosing organic ensures the oil is produced in accordance with recognised organic farming and processing requirements.
