What is Turmeric?

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a plant traditionally used in cooking and food preparations around the world. Its key naturally occurring compound is curcumin, which gives turmeric its distinctive colour.

Health Leads Turmeric capsules combine turmeric powder, concentrated curcumin extract and black pepper extract to create a carefully balanced formula.

Why include Black Pepper Extract?

Curcumin is naturally present in turmeric but can be difficult for the body to absorb efficiently. For this reason, black pepper extract standardised to 95% piperine is included in the formulation.

Piperine is widely used in nutritional formulations as it is known to help improve the absorption and bioavailability of certain nutrients.

• Curcumin extract (95%) – 40mg (20:1 equivalent to 800mg turmeric)

• Black pepper extract (Piper nigrum) – 5mg (50:1 equivalent to 250mg black pepper)
