Food-grade magnesium sulphate meets a higher purity standard than industrial or agricultural grade. Health Leads Epsom Salts are food-grade, meaning they have been manufactured to a standard suitable for internal use as well as external applications such as baths and foot soaks. Regular or technical-grade Epsom Salts are not produced to this standard and should not be used internally.

Internal use is only appropriate under the supervision of a medical practitioner. If you are considering internal use, consult a healthcare professional first. Do not exceed the recommended intake — exceeding 400mg of magnesium daily may cause digestive discomfort in sensitive individuals. This product is food-grade, but that does not mean internal use is suitable for everyone.

Add approximately half the container (around 200g) to a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes. The water should be comfortably warm rather than very hot. This is the most common use for Epsom Salts and does not require medical supervision.

Epsom Salts have a long history of traditional use and are commonly added to warm baths and foot soaks as part of a relaxing personal-care routine. The name originates from Epsom in Surrey, England, where magnesium sulphate salts became associated with local mineral spring water.
These Epsom Salts are supplied as food-grade Magnesium Sulphate and can be used for a range of traditional applications. Food-grade status does not mean internal use is appropriate for everyone, and internal use should only be considered under the supervision of a qualified medical practitioner.
Common Uses
• Bath — add approximately 200g to comfortably warm bath water and soak for around 20 minutes
• Foot soak — add approximately ½ cup to a suitable bowl of warm water and soak the feet
• Household and garden use — Magnesium Sulphate is also widely used for a range of traditional household and plant-care applications
