It is produced naturally by the freshwater microalga Haematococcus pluvialis, which is one of the richest known natural sources. This product uses natural Astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis rather than synthetic astaxanthin.

Yes. Astaxanthin is a fat-soluble carotenoid and is absorbed alongside dietary fat. Taking it with a meal containing some fat will significantly improve absorption compared to taking it on an empty stomach. A small amount of fat is sufficient — you do not need a large or high-fat meal.
