Malic acid is a naturally occurring organic acid found in many fruits, particularly apples. DL-Malic Acid is a food-grade form used as an acidulant and flavour enhancer in food and drink preparation, including home winemaking, brewing, confectionery and soft drinks. DL-Malic Acid refers to a racemic mixture of the two mirror-image forms of malic acid — D-malic acid and L-malic acid. L-Malic Acid is the form naturally found in fruit. Malic Acid is an organic acid naturally found in many fruits, particularly apples, grapes and rhubarb, where it contributes to their characteristic sharp and tart flavour. It is also widely used in foods and beverages as an acidifier and acidity regulator.
This product provides DL-Malic Acid, a food-grade form consisting of both D- and L-malic acid. It is supplied as a fine powder, making it easy to measure and mix with water or juice.
Its naturally sharp, acidic taste means only a small amount is required per serving.
