Taurine 580mg x 90 capsules

Description
Health Leads Taurine provides 580mg of pure taurine in each vegetable capsule with no fillers, binders or unnecessary additives.
Although taurine is often grouped with amino acids, it is technically an amino sulphonic acid because its chemical structure differs slightly from that of the protein-building amino acids.
Taurine occurs naturally throughout the body and is found in particularly high concentrations in the brain, retina, skeletal muscle and heart. It is also an important component of bile, where it forms bile salts involved in the digestion and absorption of dietary fats.
This simple one-ingredient formulation provides pure taurine in an additive-free capsule suitable for vegetarians.
What Is Taurine?
Taurine, or 2-aminoethanesulphonic acid, is a naturally occurring sulphur-containing compound.
Unlike the 20 amino acids used to build proteins, taurine does not contain a carboxyl group and is therefore classified as an amino sulphonic acid rather than a true amino acid.
Although it is not incorporated into proteins, taurine is one of the most abundant free amino compounds found within the human body.
How Does the Body Obtain Taurine?
The body obtains taurine in two ways.
Firstly, it can be synthesised from the sulphur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine, primarily in the liver.
Secondly, taurine is naturally present in a range of foods, particularly those of animal origin.
Natural dietary sources include: Meat, Poultry, Fish, Shellfish, Dairy products.
Plant foods contain very little naturally occurring taurine.
Where Is Taurine Found in the Body?
Taurine is naturally present throughout the body and is found in particularly high concentrations within: Skeletal muscle, The brain, The retina of the eye, The heart, Bile.
Within bile, taurine combines with bile acids to form bile salts, which contribute to the normal digestion and absorption of dietary fats.
Why Supplement Taurine?
Taurine is a naturally occurring dietary component that many people choose to supplement, particularly those whose diets contain relatively small amounts of meat or seafood.
Health Leads provides taurine as a straightforward single-ingredient supplement with no unnecessary additives, making it easy to incorporate into an existing supplement routine.
