What is Vitamin K?

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that occurs in several forms, most commonly Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and Vitamin K2 (menaquinone).

Vitamin K1 is found mainly in green leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Vitamin K2 is present in certain fermented foods.

Both forms of vitamin K are commonly included in food supplements.
